Vic Masters Challenge Race 2 at National Boulevard on Sunday 23rd March

In contrast to the damp first race of the series atGeelong, around 100 riders from Northern, Geelong SC and Eureka clubs were treated to perfect sunny conditions at National Boulevard with no wind and temps in the lows 20’s.

Across grades A – F the pace was on from the start and the racing competitive with most ending in bunch sprints apart from A grade where Damian Larkin finished well ahead of the rest of the field and Ryan Spiteri (a decorated paralympian and Aus national championship h5 cyclist) that put a lap into the rest of the F grade field.

Next week is the final of the 3 race series and hosted by Eureka so hoping as many Northern members as possible can jump on board to bring us up in the points standings which will be released soon.

Following the racing the riders that remained were treated to a great bbq spread put on by president Vince Sinni ,who stepped into the chief cook role before his race, Chooka and other helpers. Also massive thanks to the regular Northern volunteers, commissaires, timing, registration, marshals that the club has come to rely on for these events that we shouldn’t take for granted ie Bruce & Faye L, Albert R, David’s B&H, Chooka(Dave C) & Paul W.
