It was a near perfect sunny and mild winters day for the second race of the series with Northern doing well again after the points were evenly shared after the first event at Casey Fields.
Northern had wins in A, C and E grade and placings throughout all grades except F that only had a single Eastern rider.
Not much in the way of race reports except from this author who was involved in the B grade action where Northern was outnumbered 4 riders to 15 . Eastern took turns sending off attacks in ones and twos throughout the race but were ultimately brought back to the pack by the Northern riders, principally Stephen Saunders who essentially kept the bunch together and did large turns on the front. Just before the end Tommy threw in one of his trademark faux attacks to wake the bunch up before settling back until the final lap when the speed picked up which stretched out the bunch with 5 Eastern riders taking the last corner first before Craig Frost reeled in a couple of riders to pick up 3rd place for Northern.
If riders from other grades feel like sending in a report to Northern messenger I’ll add it into this post.
Congratulations to all Northern winners and place getters and for all Northern riders that supported the club by racing.

Overall points will be shared as soon as we receive the progressive from Eastern but word is that Northern is now slightly shading Eastern after parity following race 1.
Next Sunday we’re on home turf at National Boulevard for the conclusion of the 3 race series and there will be aggregate points medals for all grades and overall mens and women aggregate points trophies up for grabs as well as the usual envelopes.
