Northern continues to lead after the second round of the Tour de Metro series against Eastern at National Boulevard in wintry conditions on Sunday.
Northern picked up another 64 points bringing our tally to 124 ahead of Eastern’s 83.
Highlights included Scott Riddell winning A grade and giving his prize money to daughter Heidi for her 9th birthday, and another win to club stalwart Ian Bishop in E grade, shooting him to the top of the men’s aggregate with 16 points equal with Paul Webster from Eastern. Northern’s Kelly Murphy leads the women’s aggregate on 5 points.
Other winners were Maurice Rizzo in C grade and Alex Muhia in D grade.
No racing next weekend and then Eastern gains the home ground advantage on its two Yarra Valley courses at Gruyere on 21 July and Yarra Glen on 28 July, both Saturdays.
All riders who compete in all four races go into a draw to win one of six Village Gold Class double passes.
