Around 30 riders braved the chilly conditions for the Life Members handicap at East Trentham which featured 2 of Northerns more recent lady members Kathryn Kennedy and Phoebe Symes from the 17 min group managing to sweep up those in front and stay away from the chasing bunches. Luckily although the rain threatened at times with some very light drizzle, riders were able to complete the 55 km (5 lap) course before the weather set in.
Following the racing Northern riders that remained took over the Pig & Whistles front bar and held its race presentations there whilst enjoying the warm atmosphere and also some free refreshments courtesy of Northern’s bar tab.
