It was a warm spring day in the low 20’s with a big in the face Northerly heading up the finishing straight for the riders that turned up for the days racing across grades A through D.
Highlights of the day included evergreen Garry Clively fresh from his promotion from B grade to A grade taking a flyer with 2 laps to go to take out A grade about 13 seconds ahead of the bunch sprinters Scott Gregory and Russell Lee.
In a smaller than usual B grade field John Mitisinikos broke a spoke early and took a few laps out before returning and the rest of the field played it safe with no breakaway attempts which resulted in a bunch sprint that was taken out comfortably by Melvin Elias ahead of Jamie Sharp and Steve Toogood respectively making a return to the podium.
Thanks as usual to the days volunteers and officials that keep these races running. It was also nice to see Faye Logan back on the rego desk after recovering from a recent operation. Big thanks also to Kon Kakris our Treasurer who stepped up to take a lot of the race photos and videos of the finishes whilst also doing the first aid role as he is recovering from his wrist procedure.
If you haven’t taken on a volunteer effort this year please consider helping out and doing your duty for the club by taking on a role via the duty roster here: https://signup.com/go/VqOYupE
