Northern Cycling Criterium – Sunday 30th March 2025

posted in: Latest News
It was a cool, or as some would say it, cold morning that greeted 50 riders in today’s criterium at National Boulevard. The sun came out to warm the air a little but the wind also strengthened into a stiff NNE greeting riders with a head wind up the back straight.

With only A to D grades today, all grades had good numbers and a close competition for line honours except for B grade which saw some daylight between 1st and 2nd places.

A few riders in D and B grades found the pace a little too hot dropping off the back of their bunches and A grade saw a 4 man breakaway form in the last 2 laps and holding off the field to take the top 4 placings.

A big shout out as usual to our volunteers, without who the races would not run.

REMINDER: Next week we are back at National Boulevard at our usual time (Not East Trentham as previously scheduled). Entries are open so get in early for some last minute race fitness before our Benghazi Handicap on Anzac Day.

Congratulations to all participants and podium placings.
