On a cool dry morning without any noticeable breeze about 50 riders contested races through grades A, B, C, D & F. In todays racing C grade attracted the largest field of around 13 riders followed by B grade with 11 riders Big call out to John McKinnon in B grade for spending a huge amount of time on the front Leading the field around before getting swamped in the final sprint. Grant Harvey also picked up a comfortable win on return to A grade and Terry Hollibone returning from a long break from crit racing picked up the win in C grade.
Unfortunately C grade experienced a rare incident in which a number of riders went down at the top of the circuit however luckily there were no serious injuries. Speedy recovery to those involved.
Many thanks to all the helpers, marshals and volunteers that guarantee the smooth and safe running of these events. Special mention to Bruce, Faye, Chooka, Albert, Dave, Bill etc who turn up week in – week out to help out the club.
** There were a couple of riders today that didn’t have a working tail light so please check this before turning up to race as its not an option and riders could be turned away in future or fined as its a legal requirement.
Congrats to all the winners and place getters from todays races and hope to see many of you back at National Boulevard next week where there should be a back straight finish.
