Another sunny, crisp Sunday morning almost perfect for racing welcomed riders for todays back straight finish at National Boulevard.
It was great to have a good representation of ladies present and doing well in the races with Kaz McMurray winning D grade, Irena Rakhimova taking 3rd and Kathryn Kennedy stepping up into her first B grade race and acquitting herself well after doing a massive ride the previous day.
There was also a return to podium form for a number of members with Nick Nomikos and Jamie Sharp powering away to take the sprints in B and C grade respectively and some long term members Ron Peel and Colin Morris picking up 2nd and 3rd place in C grade.
At the completion there was also a couple of belated individual trophy presentations to the 2023 most improved male and female riders Kathryn Kennedy and Luke Markof as well as the perpetual trophy for the recently run Life Members HCP. Luke underlined his improvement status today with his first podium in A grade coming in 3rd place.
As always special mention to our volunteers & Marshals. Specifically Bruce, Faye, Albert, Chooka, Dave(s) and Bill whom rarely miss a week. The club owes you all a deep gratitude and it would be great if others could step up occasionally and offer to assist to take the pressure off our regular contributors.
