Northern Cycling Criterium at National Boulevard – Sunday 1/9/24

posted in: Latest News

A howling wind pushing 30 km/h made for some challenging conditions for  riders at National Boulevard for todays crit races.

With the Fathers Day steel bike race postponed 39 riders across grades A – E  contended with a back straight finish into the tough headwind with the biggest fields coming from B and C grade today.

Shout out to John McKinnon for still competing in B grade wth his steel bike after not getting the change of program message.

Thanks to the volunteers, referees, time keeper  and marshals for todays race and particularly those that helped clean the circuit prior to and during the race (Dave and Albert)  from debris resulting from the high winds and also windscreen glass near the top of the back straight.

Congratulations to todays winners and place getters.
