Northern Cycling Criterium at National Boulevard on Sunday 12th October

posted in: Latest News

Following last Sundays Club Championship It was back to National Boulevard for a regular criterium with a back straight finish for around 50 riders that battled it out across grades A – E.

Weather conditions for the riders today were dry and cool to mild around 12 degC with a Northerly making life challenging for those on the front heading up the back straight.

Not much in the way of write-ups but as usual feel free to add anything in the comments or send into the Northern messenger chat and it will get added in. Of note was Luke Markof finally grabbing his B grade win after one of his typical high wattage sprints into the breeze to take the honours after being a regular on the B grade podium . Expecting his good form will be rewarded by Bruce with a return to the A grade field next outing.

There could also be some other promotions with Walter Dapcich in C grade continuing on his good form in the secret handicap from last week by taking the top step with other ex B grade alumni (Jamie Sharp and Kon Kakris) sharing the podium in C grade today.

Also great to see Chooka well and back looking after the starts and finish line again after being unwell for a few weeks.

Congratulations to todays winners and place getters:

1st – Simon Whelan
2nd – Simon Bone
