The final race of the popular Cycle House GSR series attracted good fields across most grades with A grade again attracting the largest bunch with around 20 riders closely followed by C with 18 and B with 17.
In keeping with recent races the weather was dry and again on the cooler side for summer with a strengthening WSW breeze. It was also another back straight finish which will be a permanent fixture from now on with the new coffee shop / toilet facilities of Caffeinated AF nearby. Please consider checking out the coffee and food available and supporting this new arrangement.
In A grade the breakaway winner David Lanter and 2nd place getter Pierre Pascal crossed the line well ahead of the main bunch with Scott Gregory taking out the bunch sprint.
In B grade the pace was on early and the attacks began from the get go and was too much for a few of field who were unhitched from the bunch. None of the break attempts succeeded however and the bunch was more or less together for the final sprint that was taken out comfortably by Avi Kassman ahead of Matthew Wilson and Ethen Timms. Given Avi took 2 wins and 1 second place its guaranteed him a date with A grade next time out.
No intel on the C grade race however at the end It was a closer bunch sprint with Dennis Hosking edging out Kon Kakris and Andrew McKenzie respectively. Check out the videos of the finishes.
