Northern Criterium at National Boulevard – Sun 21st January

posted in: Latest News

Numbers for todays crit were a little down on last weeks race due mostly to many members being in Adelaide following the Tour Down Under.

Conditions for the riders were mild and windy with a back straight finish with C and D grade combined due to the lower D grade rider numbers.

In B grade it was looking like a breakaway of 3 riders were going to stay away however they were eventually caught with a few laps to go and a strung out sprint to the line followed. In A grade Matt Carmichael won comfortably solo’ing to the line more than 20 seconds ahead of the nearest rider. Based on the mylaps results in the C/D grade race it looked like a bunch sprint with a comfortable win to James Hender. E grade looked like a closer bunch sprint with Henryk Herbec coming out on top..

Massive thanks to all volunteers and in particular Bruce Logan who takes care of the timing and turned up despite not feeling the best. The club relies heavily on these people so consider leaning in and helping when possible.

Next weeks race is a handicap at Seymour and minimum numbers will need to be met in order for the race to go ahead so please enter early if you plan on racing.
