After a slightly dodgy forecast the weather gods again smiled on us to produce a near perfect day of winter crit racing with blue skies and hardly any wind to speak of.
B grade produced the largest bunch of the day with 16 riders fighting it out in a fast punchy race with several breakaway attempts before Michael Kanizay dropped a watt bomb before the final turn at the top of the back straight to attack early and leave most riders in his wake to power home for another win with Shayne Kirby and mr consistent Mark Micallef in 3rd place.
‘A’ grade had 9 riders that finished more or less together with podium regular Scott Gregory taking out the bunch sprint by a bike length with Nick Owen edging out Luke Poyser who continues his recent success in A grade.
Unfortunately no visibility of the other grades by this author so as usual feel free to shoot any race reporting through to the Northern messenger account and will be happy to update the post.
Thanks to all the usual officials, volunteers and marshals that allow us to put on these races in a safe and efficient manner.
In other news the new Women’s jersey from cat1 is now available for those that ordered it and a separate email will go out shortly
