Mild and still conditions perfect for racing greeted the Northern and add-on members who made their way out to Glenaroua Broadford for the mass start club championship and secret hcp that kicked off from the Glenaroua CFA Fire Station.
This year Tim Anderson continued his recent impressive form and pulled away from the leading group on the second lap of the hilly 65 km circuit to take the win by ~3 minutes over the leading bunch of around 10 riders.
From the chasing bunch last years club champion Aaron Christiansen crossed over in second place closely followed by Agostino Giramondo in 3rd in a bunch sprint finish.
For the ladies Stephanie Young came through to claim the ladies club champion ahead of Sandra Prosenica with last years winner Kathryn Kennedy unable to defend her title this year due to a recent injury. The club wishes her all the best for her recovery and hopes to see her back riding soon.
This year the winner and place getters of the Northern secret handicap were:
1st place – Stephanie Young
2nd place – Nathan D’arcy
3rd place – Noel Said
4th place – Sandra Prosenica
5th place – Walter Dapcich
6th place – George Goodrope
7th place – Tim Anderson
