The first race of the year was held at National Boulevard in perfect racing conditions under blue skies with a nice Southerly breeze making for a fast pace up the back straight.
B and C grade races featured strong breakaway efforts from Tim Anderson (solo in B for most of the race) and C grade’s – John McKinnon who began the break and was then joined by Michael Kanizay (winner), Raelene Lesniowska & trial rider Johnny Lejcak whom all finished well ahead in their respective grades. In ‘A’ grade, Andrew Garret was chased down on the final lap and the bunch sprint was taken out by Garth Hircoe from Preston CC.
Next week is again at National Boulevard so hoping for another perfect day with a large field across all the grades.
