Great racing for Tracey Romans Memorial

posted in: Latest News

The rain stayed away and conditions were mild providing near perfect conditions for the Tracey Romans Memorial graded scratch races at National Boulevard on Mother’s Day.

There were good numbers across all grades for this charity event to raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Australia. Former member and wife of Club Captain Jeff Romans, Tracey passed away in 2015 after a battle with ovarian cancer and we race on this day each year in her memory and to help a very worthy cause.

Meredith Kelly – our current women’s club champion – was awarded the One Tough Mumma trophy.

Congratulations to everyone who raced, particularly all placegetters, and the women who raced in tough conditions in Learmonth the day before in the first race in The Conni Classic 2019 women’s series hosted by Eureka Cycling Club – an initiative of More Females on Bikes.

Thanks also to officials and volunteers. We hope all the mums had a great Mother’s Day.
