Great day out for Mother’s Day fundraiser

posted in: Latest News

Riders came out in great numbers across all grades to support the Tracey Romans Memorial criteriums at National Boulevard to raise funds for the Ovarian Cancer Foundation, in memory of former club member Tracey Romans.

One of the stand out performances came from Northern member and mum Tanya Simpson winning her first race in D grade. Tanya was also awarded the ‘one tough mumma’ trophy and to top it off her partner Trevor Rim proposed to her the day before at the velodrome on their eighth anniversary together!

Congratulations to the following winners:
A – Michael Downing 41.67 km/h average speed
B – Glen Grbesa 38.26
C – Mark Edele 36.13
D – Tanya Simpson 32.46
E – Henryk Herbec 32.35
F – Meredith Kelly 29.3

Thank you to all riders and volunteers for supporting this fundraising event with all proceeds raised going to the Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

If you didn’t get a chance to race on Mother’s Day, we have set up a fundraising page and would be grateful for any donations received.
