It was another impressive turnout for the crits today with 65 riders entered across grades A through E with B grade attracting the largest field with 21 riders.
For this years event riding a steel bikes wasn’t a requirement to get a place with the focus more on judging post race although there were a number of riders prepared to race their steel steads with the standout being Daryl Suter who managed to place 3rd in a stacked B grade field.
Unfortunately there was no electronic timing available for this Sundays racing due to the unavailability of Bruce and Faye as a result of recovering from a medical procedure so the placings were manually judged.
Following racing Albert Rain ran the post race proceedings in Tim’s absence reminding the assembled audience that the tradition on Fathers Day is to donate the days entry fees to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Lastly the judging of the steel bikes was also ran at the conclusion of the podium presentations.
Big thanks to the days volunteers and officials (Albert Rain, Chooka, John McKinnon, Paul Willson, Dave Halliday and Dave Brown) and congrats to the winners and place getters.
