Graded scratch races at National Boulevard this Sunday 24 June will be the final and farewell Northern event for popular husband and wife team Ian and Stacey Hatton who are moving interstate.
Ian has accepted a position as the general manager of the Lismore Hospital in New South Wales. Stacey is our 2017 women’s club champion.
Both Ian and Stacey have made enormous contributions to the club in recent years, not just as competitive and successful racers, but as dedicated health professionals who have volunteered many hours to carry out first aid duty at races, attend the occasional accident and carry out regular audits and updates of the club’s first aid kits and equipment. They have been a terrific support to the Committee and have made many friends.
After races this Sunday we will hold a celebratory farewell event for the Hattons and their children and have an opportunity to wish them the very best for the future. We will miss them. Hope to see you there.
