The final race in the popular CycleHouse series saw some competitive racing from more than 60 riders across grades A through E.
It was a back straight finish today in mild conditions with a South Westerly tail wind at the backs of the riders as they headed to the finish line.
Unfortunately there was also a crash in the run up to the line in A grade that saw 3 riders go down. This caused a fair bit of bruising and grazes to the riders involved and some badly damaged bikes however luckily no breaks were reported and all riders were able to make their own way home after being assessed. The club wishes them all a speedy recovery and big thanks to all those who provided medical assistance at the scene of the accident (e.g Trevor R and Phoebe S)
Thanks also to all the volunteers that make these races possible. On Sunday this was Bruce and Faye Logan for timing and registration. David’s Brown and Halliday for setup, course checking, van and ref duties. Chooka for getting the riders away and the finish line. Kathryn Kennedy and Trevor Rim for marshal duties on the day. Apologies to any names missed.
Notwithstanding the accident in the final race it was a very successful series and the club appreciates the generous support of CycleHouse for their ongoing sponsorship of this series and look forward to holding it again next year.
Firstly, congrats to the final race podium getters:

Where riders were even on points it was decided on the number of races competed in and highest placings. The placing points were also determined by the number of riders in each grade.
