Cup Day racing at NB

posted in: Latest News, Uncategorized

Graded scratch racing with a twist will be held on Melbourne Cup day, Tuesday 5 November at National Boulevard.

We will be trialling a teams event in grades A, B and C/D combined. Teams will consist of three riders with A and B grades to recruit and form their own teams. Single entries for A and B grade riders are still encouraged to enter and will be put into a team selected by our handicapper. C/D combined grades will have mixed teams which will be put together by the handicapper. All riders from other clubs who have a current Australian Veterans Cycling Council licence are more than welcome to join us.

Medals will be awarded to all three team members of the winning/placing teams down to third. The winning team will be determined by the first rider over the line, each team will only be allowed to claim one placing. (If all three riders from the winning team finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd then the second place team will be determined by the 4th rider over the line).
E and F grade riders will still race per our normal format and we hope to include this teams event into a series for all grades in our 2020 race program.

A big thank you to Troy Jordan from Cycle House who is sponsoring this inaugural teams event and providing the medals.

Entries are currently being taken on Entry Boss until12noon on Monday 4 November ,entries will also be taken on race day in the cafe until 8.45am.
