There’s still plenty of time to register for Northern’s ‘Come and Try’ Day on Sunday 30 September being run by coaches David Heatley and Jodie Batchelor from Cycling-Inform.
The session will cover skills such as cornering; positioning in the bunch, bunch riding and rolling turns, safe distance when on a wheel, out of the saddle, etiquette, reaching for a water bottle, finishing a race, clipping in and pushing/starting off.
After practicing the skills, there’ll be a chance to take part in a mock race around the National Boulevard criterium circuit.
David and Jodie are renowned cycling coaches and have spent the past 10 years developing cycle coaching packages that have helped thousands of cyclists cut through the confusion of cycle training. This session is aimed at both men (35+ yrs) and women (30+ yrs) – and is free of charge. It will start at about 10am at the conclusion of our regular graded scratch races. There’ll also be a barbecue, some demos on basic mechanical repairs and some give aways. Registrations essential – phone or text Allison on 0438 010 530.
