Following racing today 2nd Nov at National Boulevard members of the Northern Cycling committee (Albert, Craig, Tim, Bruce, David H and Chooka) made the decision in the interest of safety and fairness to competitors that the race will be moved to East Trentham on December 7 which is our next available handicap.
The decision was made as the forecast at Broadford for Monday is solid rain and Tuesday also rain throughout most of the day which would make the road surface slippery and unsafe with washover likely on many parts of the course. Furthermore we were still lacking a dedicated first aider and 2 corner marshalls without which we would have been unable to run the event.
Apologies to all those that were looking forward to racing however we can expect an even larger field will be available for the rescheduled race at East Trentham given there were many not able to attend due to Cup Day / defacto long weekend plans.
Full refunds have been issued.
