Around 40 riders made their way out to the East Trentham ‘Pig & Whistle’ for the rescheduled running of the Angelo De Francesco memorial handicap.
A coolish start with a light SSW breeze greeted the riders at the start line as the 8 bunches headed off at intervals with scratch departing 30 mins after the limit group of 3 riders.
The scratch group of Jesse Cropley and Aaron Christiansen eventually reeled in all the other bunches to grab 2nd and 3rd place respectively about 3 mins after Bronwyn Morris crossed the line. Closely behind was Luke Poyser (1 min) who out sprinted Phil Naido (7 min), Tom McDonough (7 min) and Sebastian Slezak (7 min) across the line.
Thanks to all the corner marshals who made the journey out to East Trentham and a special thank you to Nickolas Bird whom not only took on the First Aid roll but also baked a load of banana bread that many of todays riders enjoyed that remained behind for the presentations and club supplied pizza’s.
Massive thanks as usual to Bruce, Faye, Albert Rain, David Halliday and Paul Wilson who turn up every week to make these events happen and usually with a lot of time put in behind the scenes.
Congrats to todays winners and place getters:
