Entries close this Thursday for the Angelo De Francesco Memorial Handicap at Glenaroua on Sunday 4 November when we will race in Angelo’s memory at his favourite course at Glenaroua, near Broadford.
This race has been combined with the President’s Mountain Goat Classic. It is fitting that these events have come together (Angelo’s race having been washed out earlier in the year) as these two Italian gentlemen – our President Vince and Angelo – met at Northern Cycling and struck up a great friendship.
There’s a perpetual trophy up for grabs for the winner and medals for 2nd, 3rd & fastest time. Total prize money is $1200. The course will comprise two laps of the large loop (65km)
On Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday 6 November, there is graded scratch races at National Boulevard and on Sunday 11 November we are back at Glenaroua for Chooka’s Wheelrace where the famous chicken perpetual trophy is up for grabs.
