Northern is ahead on the points table 60 points to Eastern’s 41 after today’s first race in the Tour de Metro four-race series in cold but sunny conditions at National Boulevard.
Northern had the home ground advantage and had a few more riders – 56 to Eastern’s 43. With one visitor from Hume, the total start number was 100 riders resulting in good fields across all grades. Northern had winners in A grade Mark Seddon, C grade Terry Hollibone, E grade Ian Bishop and F grade Brian Forbes, with placegetters in all grades.
Congratulations to everyone who braved the cold conditions to race today and a big shout out to officials and volunteers for making the race possible.
