A weekend of comebacks …

posted in: Latest News, Uncategorized

It was great to see Tamara Riddell and Kellie Murphy return to racing last weekend after both being off the bike for months due to injury. Tamara took out the win in D grade at National Boulevard on Saturday afternoon, while Kellie won her age group (40-44 years) in the VCV State Time Trial Championships at Balliang on Sunday.

Melbourne’s weather turned it on for crits at 3pm on Saturday with small fields braving the rainy, sunny and windy conditions.

While Tamara won D grade, her husband Scott won in A grade; Mark Micallef clocked up another win in B; Michael Lavender had an easy solo breakaway win in C; the battle of the former and current Vice Presidents saw Allison Watt just beat Jo Read by .031 sec in E and Sue Scott had a win in F. Special mention also to Craig Harvey who had his first race in A grade and finished second. Well done to all riders who competed in challenging conditions and a big thank you also to our volunteers who made this event possible.
