Visitors win VVCC open crits at NB

posted in: Latest News

It was worth the early start and two-hour drive from Shepparton for husband and wife team Trent and Trudy Stevenson from Goulburn Valley Vets who won both the men’s and women’s VVCC open crit championship races at NB on Sunday.

Trudy was the only visiting rider in the women’s race with Northern members making up the remainder of the field of eight. Tamara Riddell came second and took out the Spring Queen medal, while Cristine Foster came third.

Trent joined Northern’s Kos Samaras in a two-man breakaway in the men’s race with only a couple of laps to go and it came down to the sprint. Kos came second, Tim Bennett from Geelong third and Richard Abel from Eastern took out the Sprint King title.

Well done to everyone who raced in the support races and the two main events and to our volunteers and officials for making the race possible.
