Visitor Matt wins A Grade

A respite from the heat saw ideal conditions for racing at National Boulevard on Sunday. Highlights included Eureka visitor Matt Bowman making a solo break with more than a lap to go to win A grade; Nathan D’arcy winning in B; Alex Muhia winning C with Geoff Forbes second and Terry Hodges third in his second race back after last year’s accident; Simon Bol sprinted beautifully to take the win in D from Greg North; club stalwart Ian Bishop will be getting a promotion after winning in E again and Allison Watt won in F.

No racing this weekend due to the Cadel Evans race and the Alpine Classic. A Beach Road training ride leaves from the corner of Ingles and Turner Streets, Port Melbourne, at 8.30am on Monday 28 January – ride either to Mordialloc or the shorter distance to Black Rock with brunch afterwards at the Port Bakehouse in Bay Street.
