Tracey Romans Memorial crits this Mother’s Day

posted in: Latest News

Each year on Mother’s Day we race graded scratch at National Boulevard in memory of former member Tracey Romans who passed away in December 2015 after a long and courageous battle against ovarian cancer.

Married to club captain Jeff Romans, Tracey was an active and valued member of Northern and had many friends at the club. This Sunday 12 May, all proceeds from race entries, raffles etc will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

Once again, Jeff will provide medals for placegetters in all grades, as well as the ‘One Tough Mama’ Trophy for the best female race of the day.

This is one of our three fundraising races held each year and last year we raised more than $2000 for research into Ovarian Cancer.

Ovarian Cancer Australia is the leading organisation taking action for Australians affected by ovarian cancer. It is committed to saving lives and supporting women through providing specialised supports for women living with ovarian cancer, facilitating high-impact research to improve outcomes for women, and raising awareness on a national scale to ensure every Australian knows ovarian cancer.

We have set up a fundraising page and would be grateful for any donations received.

Please support this event this Sunday – you’ll be home in time to take your Mum or significant other out to lunch!
