It’s less than two weeks away – Father’s Day Sunday 2 September and one of the biggest days on the Northern calendar, the Steel Bike Race and Display at National Boulevard.
Time to dust off your steel bike and get it ready for graded scratch races – steel bikes and all other bikes are able to race with medallions for the best steel bikes raced on the day across all grades. Or if racing’s not your thing, bring your bikes along and take part in the display where there are also prizes on offer.
This is one of our three fundraising events for the year with all proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, so no prize money will be awarded.
President Vince, who came second last year to John ‘Shorty’ Short has brought another vintage steel bike home from this year’s trip to Italy and is determined to take the top prize.
