Photographer Matt Ayres captured the moment that a gust of wind picked up Northern’s George Micevski and his bike at the VCV State Time Trial Championships at Balliang earlier this month. Seconds later George hit the deck, sustaining broken ribs and a broken collarbone which resulted in an overnight stay at Geelong Hospital and subsequent surgery a week later.
George is on the mend and recovering at home on the trainer. He has little recollection of the accident which occurred at a speed of approximately 57kmh. Our best wishes to George for a speedy recovery and also to Mark Seddon who has also had surgery following an altercation with a kangaroo while out on a training ride.
