Graded scratch races at new Gisborne circuit

posted in: Latest News

This Sunday 10 February is graded scratch races at a new 10.5km out-and-back circuit at Gisborne South.

This is a gently undulating course starting and finishing in Dalrymple Road, just before the left hand turn into Deverall Road. The course travels along Bennett Road and McGregor Road with a U turn at the end of McGregor Road before returning along the same route to the start. This is similar to the Kinglake circuit and without the challenging hills of our usual Gisborne South Circuit. Thanks to Albert and Harry for coming up with this new circuit for us.

Registration from 9am is at the Pitruzello Estate at the bottom of Deverall Road, where there’s parking and toilets – it’s just a short ride up the hill to the start.  Presentations will be back at the Estate. Thanks to Michael Borowski for organising this for us.

Racing starts at 10am with the following distances for each grade:

A – 7 laps
B – 6 laps
C – 6 laps
D – 5 laps
E – 4 laps
F – 3 laps

There’s a map of the new circuit here

Please support this race on this new circuit which has been developed as a result from feedback from members for less challenging circuits that are closer to Melbourne. We look forward to hearing what you think.
