Dads + steel bikes = funds raised for Prostate Cancer

posted in: Latest News

Our annual Father’s Day steel bike race and show at National Boulevard is going from strength to strength each year with today’s event proving another fundraising success for research into prostate cancer.

Troy Jordan scooped the prize pool featuring in all awards – he was the first steel bike over the line in A grade on his vintage Colnago, he won the best steel bike raced on the day and his bikes came 2nd and 3rd in the displayed steel bike categories.

George Hamilton won the best steel bike displayed (and not raced) with his Bianchi.

Other highlights included the auction of a 1974 Araya donated by David Cummings which raised $50.

James Stuart won D grade on a single speed Malvern Star. Geoff Forbes won in E grade on his 50 year old Bates.

Thanks to everyone who supported this event by racing, displaying and making donations with all proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Our treasurer Ian is out of action for the moment, so we’ll report back with the final tally when we have it.
